Lewes-Rehoboth Beach Rotary recently donated $3,000 to Warrior Community Connect.

The Delaware-based nonprofit organization was established in 2020 to support war heroes as they recover and transition back to active duty or civilian life. Founder and President Walt Ellenberger said its mission is to strengthen the resilience of wounded, ill or injured veterans and their caregivers so they can grow and thrive.

Many veterans face tremendous challenges and have long-term needs. Their scars are both visible and invisible. Their families experience difficulties due to the burdens placed on caregivers, limited income potential, and gaps in benefits and services.

The Lewes-Rehoboth Beach Rotary Club supports Warrior Community Connect and many other worthy nonprofit organizations through proceeds from the club’s Flags for Heroes program.
